Welcome to the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise!
Our club is part of Rotary International. Rotary has over 1.2 million members with 33,094 clubs present in over 169 countries and 40 territories. We are a group of Business owners and executives dedicated to "Service Above Self." We promote world peace with our efforts to reduce deaths caused by poverty and disease. This year the focus of Rotary International is to reduce the child mortality rate. Statistics show that over 26,000 children under the age of 5 die every day from preventable causes. These statistics are staggering. The theme this year is "Make Dreams Real" to keep us focused on the children.
The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise is dedicated to humanitarian projects and we are committed to our community. Through our efforts Simi Sunrise makes a difference in people's lives. We provide dictionaries to promote literacy, we offer seniors a meal at Thanksgiving, and we take children in need on a shopping spree for gifts during the holidays. We provide support for the agencies offering services to those in need. We help build water wells in other countries to provide clean water, we supply medical equipment where there is none, we provide vaccinations to children in remote areas of the world and we promote peace. Our club is dedicated to making a difference both locally and internationally.
There is a spirit of fellowship when you surround yourself with Rotarians. It is a wonderful organization with wonderful, dedicated people.
It is an honor to serve this incredible group of people as their President during the 2008/2009 Rotary year. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about Rotary.
Sincerely,
Maggie Kestly
